The mission of the NVW&HC is to establish an environment that is responsive to the needs of veterans and military families using creative therapies and processes that focus on emotional and physical healing. The National Veterans Wellness and Healing Center (NVWHC), located in the beautiful alpine setting of Angel Fire, NM. The retreats, built on the three components of traditional therapy, alternative therapy, and Native American healing practices, received much acclaim from the participants. On average, NVWHC retreat-goers experienced a 25% improvement of PTSD symptoms when comparing pre and post retreat.
"There is a one of a kind Veterans Affairs Relationship Retreat at Angel Fire, New Mexico for 100% Disabled Veterans and their spouse. It deals with the painful struggles of the invisible wounds of war. It has had a great deal of success. It will not cure PTSD but I do believe it will give you hope with the everyday fight with PTSD. Your family is your lifeline." - Larry Dale Mooneyham, Advisory Board to Disabled Veterans Services
